Of course, a different kind of meat requires a different
kind of sauce. Being a big fan of Asian
cooking, I know that soy and citrus are a guaranteed match for this fish and
after tasting, I couldn’t wait to share this recipe with you all!
So, grab yourself two, fresh tuna steaks and start cooking
using this delicious marinade…
Marinade Ingredients:
·
1 orange, juiced
·
½ lemon, juiced
·
3 tbsp soy sauce
·
2 tbsp olive oil
·
1 garlic clove, minced
·
1 handful fresh parsley, roughly chopped
·
1 pinch black pepper
Method:
1. Mix the marinade ingredients together in a large
bowl. Add the tuna steaks and thoroughly
coat with the marinade, then set aside for 30 minutes.
2. Preheat a frying pan over a medium heat. Once the pan is hot, remove the tuna steaks
from the marinade and lay in the pan for 3-4 minutes. You can adjust the timing depending on the
steak thickness and your preferred taste.
3. Turn the steaks over and cook for a further 3-4
minutes, drizzling some of the marinade over the top. Once the steaks are cooked to your desired
taste, remove from the pan and plate.
4. Now, you don’t want to waste that amazing
marinade! Turn the heat up to high and
add the remaining marinade to the pan.
Stir continuously until the sauce has begun to thicken and turn slightly
sticky – this will take approximately 1-2 minutes.
5. The soy and orange in the marinade provide the
finished sauce with a sharpness that pairs perfectly with the fish, so drizzle
over the tuna steaks and enjoy!
Wondering what to serve your tuna with? Stick to the Asian theme and serve with
rice. For an extra depth of flavour, toss
the rice in a trickle of sesame oil before plating. If you’re feeling super healthy or fancy a
lighter meal, serve with a fresh salad and balsamic dressing.
